Brow lift

Open your eyes, lift your spirit. A brow lift: refreshed, youthful, naturally elevated. Reclaim your vibrant look.

What happens first?

Consultation with a surgeon
The first step to having brow lift surgery is to visit the clinic for a consultation with one of our oculoplastic surgeons. During a consultation, your surgeon will conduct a thorough assessment of your facial anatomy, skin quality, and overall health to determine if you are a suitable candidate for a brow lift.

You will have the opportunity to discuss your goals and expectations for the procedure. Your surgeon will explain what can realistically be achieved through a brow lift and may provide before-and-after photos of previous patients.

Your surgeon will explain what happens and the different techniques for brow lifts and which is most appropriate for you, as well as risks and benefits of surgery.

The consultation is a crucial step in the process of undergoing a brow lift, as it allows you to understand the procedure, set realistic expectations, and ensure that you are comfortable moving forward with the surgery.

Treatment options

A brow lift operation is undertaken to address drooping of the brows which can cause a hooded appearance. The operation may be performed in isolation or, more commonly, in conjunction with an upper lid blepharoplasty (an upper eyelid lift or cosmetic eyelid operation).

There are many different surgical procedures which can be used to raise the eyebrows. These will be discussed with you at consultation and the option selected will be the most appropriate to your age, appearance, and anatomy.

A brow lift, also known as a forehead lift, is commonly performed using one of the following techniques:

Traditional Brow Lift
In a traditional brow lift, an incision is made along the hairline, typically from ear to ear or across the top of the head. The skin is then lifted, and excess tissue is removed to raise and smooth the forehead and brow area. This technique is suitable for patients with more significant sagging or drooping of the brow.

Temporal Brow Lift
A temporal brow lift focuses on lifting the outer portion of the brow and can be performed using shorter incisions near the temples. This technique is ideal for patients who have mild to moderate sagging in the outer brow area.

Direct Brow Lift
A direct brow lift involves making an incision directly above the eyebrows to lift and tighten the brow position. This technique is typically reserved for patients with very low brows or deep forehead creases.

Endobrow lift
This is a minimally invasive procedure that lifts and rejuvenates the forehead and brow area. Small incisions are made behind the hairline, and an endoscope is used to reposition the brow muscles and tissue, reducing sagging and wrinkles. This technique offers natural-looking results with minimal scarring and faster recovery compared to traditional methods.

Pretrichial forehead and brow lift
This procedure involves lifting and rejuvenating the forehead and brow area through an incision placed along the hairline. This technique allows for the removal of excess skin and tissue, resulting in a smoother and more lifted appearance of the brow and forehead. The pretrichial approach is particularly beneficial for patients with moderate to severe sagging in the brow area.

Your oculoplastic surgeon will evaluate your specific concerns and goals during the consultation to determine the most appropriate approach for your brow lift surgery.
